YO yo

sup, this song was so good I just had to give it a bad score yo, lol jk,
dunno what to say about the song,
Good sounds, but the drums get lost in the synths (if anything in DnB it should be the other way around) dnb doesn't usually use a lot of the sawtooth synths like that tho, so maybe u might wanna change it up a little, depends what u want really. And, u know how I feel about loops lol, so I guess drum loops are ok, but it'd be better if u added some bits of orginial drum programming. (try the DnB kits)
btw, I hear there was this awesome song called thermal reaction played at some rave somewhere, and the two guys who made it were called strifer and surgeboy or something like that, u should look into it.

totally unorginal, but well made

yea, not my kind of trance, way too cheesy and commercial, someone mentioned before about the old skool rave synths, but all I hear are those god damn annoying super saw synths, and a cool acidy line in the back. If I were you I would have expanded on the acid part and left that overdone anthem part alone, cuz damn, how many trance songs nowadays do that sht? It's what's slowly destroying trance...or turning it into some bad pop stuff. Just my two cents, but yea production is good (that is if what I'm hearing isn't just pre-made loops) and you lay down the acidy vibe well at the start, two bad it fades away.

Thanks for the honest review. Yes, I was going for that mainstream feel for this one - and if this is the impression that this track conveys, I guess I have succeeded in that aspect; although I can certainly understand when you say that it sounds "cheesy and commercial", and perhaps uninspired. I fully agree.

In the final version (which I can't seem to get quite right, but anyhoo), yes, the acid mashup from the beginning is extended and revamped for a fuller introduction, and the shred saws are backed up by other synths to give them a more interesting and fresh feel, which I agree, is needed.

However, I believe that shreds (supersaws) are simply an artifact of trance, in the same way that guitars are an artifact of metal, and I just don't think that trance can be trance without including them in some form or another. But yes, I know what you mean when you say that it's by no means original, but then again, with the rise of the internet and and sites such as NG which are breeding grounds for aspiring amateur artists such as myself, the term "original trance" is paradoxical in itself.

Anyways, I can assure you that I use no prefabricated loops of any kind in any of my tracks. I make it a point to use only synths that I create on my own, both to avoid copyright infringement, and simply because I feel that it gives me more control over having the track sound as I want it to.

In conclusion, I would once again like to thank you for your review, and I hope that you fins my future work more original and inspired.

Regards,

nice one

Good stuff, though I definitly don't see this as a boss level thing, just not fast or chaotic enough. I see this more as a, two guys strutting down the street, or an introduction song to some evil guy in a video game. But I liked the song, great basslines you have there, especially the sub.

definitly good sound, but.....

I played your song expecting a hard techno track but instead I got a sort of anthem/cheesy trance core kinda song, but it was stil a nice song. Though I could have sworn I've heard that lead synth you have going some where else, and I don't mean in a flash submission. Anyways,
about the song. Parts come together nicely, and the saw lead sounds great, very crisp and fat. Just curious, what did you use to make this song?

not much really happening here

I'll be honest, you have the melody from legend of zelda link to the past being played over a very simple 4/4 beat and that's it. I don't even hear a bassline. There are a few fx here and there but nothng else. You didn't even change any thing of melody, it's exactly the same, sound wise and arrangment wise.

good idea

you have a good idea going, but the song sounds too much like loops being thrown together, and the mixing isn't too great, the drums and kick are lost in the mix to the huge rave synth you have going.

some day you will look back at this moment and laugh
